It's scary when I think about what potentially needs to be done before we leave in 5 weeks! I keep thinking that we should have everything ready now to move but then I think it's still 5 weeks to go and we can't really pack everything up when we've still got to live here until then.
We've ticked a few more things off in the last couple of weeks. We bought some new luggage so we can now see the size of our lives that we're taking over to Montreal - not very big! (I've heard hand luggage limits are pretty flexible...) I donated all of Austin's baby clothes to a charity. This felt good as I've had boxes and boxes of baby clothes hanging around for years in case a sibling appears and since that hasn't happened and Montreal has, Montreal gets priority and the charity gets the goods!
The other week I got a little stressed ('A little??' I hear my husband murmuring...) about what we still hadn't done so I started making lists. A list for each week left before we go, a list for the hand luggage we're taking, a list for what needs to be packed in our suitcases. Lots of lists. I added a few things to the '6 weeks and counting' list and maybe a couple to the '5 weeks and counting' list and then I got distracted and haven't visited them since. Whatever works in the moment I guess.
Since my little list 'tick' I've calmed down a little. I still have bursts of heart pounding moments when I look around the house or think about the actual day of the flight but I respond to myself with a no worries attitude and move on. That won't work when it's a week to go and we still have a house full of stuff that's got to be packed, stuff that's staying here, and stuff that we need to get rid of somehow. I guess I'll make another list for that when the time comes...
What other lists should I make before we go? Let me know!
